Press, stamp and machine processes

Our main production output is components for the bearing industry. We manufacture around two million retainers/cages a year in sizes of 100-2500 mm for customers all over the world. These retainers are used in several different applications in numerous industries.

Pressed retainers/cages

We press/stamp retainers/cages up to 500 mm. The process is based on a sheet metal blank or ring that is drawn in our draw presses to create a cup form. We then stamp pockets for the rollers in this cup.

The retainer/cage is used for roller bearings applications such as large gearboxes in areas like heavy vehicle industry, mining and wind industry.

Milling

We mill retainers/cages primarily for large applications such as main shafts for wind turbines and large stone crushers. The design is different, as these large retainers are manufactured from solid steel rings.

Laser cutting

We laser cut retainers up to 1,100 mm. The process is based on the same procedure as for our pressed retainers: a sheet metal blank or ring that is drawn in our draw presses to create a cup form. We then laser cut the roller pockets from the cup.
These retainers are used for roller bearings in, for example, large gearboxes, small wind turbines, steelworks and mining machines.
